Libby has turned out to be a wonderful mare. Libby was totally untrained when she lunged off the truck in LA. I had manged to get a halter on her in the semi trailer she shared with 6 other draft cross mares. They had travelled from Manitoba, Canada to Los Angels, CA in four days. We corralled her into our trailer for the 1200 mile ride home. Libby learned to lead in the first week and was a pro at lunging by the second week. It took a bit of time for Libby to learn to trust us. Once she figured out that we supplied carrots, she never questioned us again. Libby has passes her wonderful disposition on to her foals. The first foal Libby had with us was Jenny shown above. Her second foal, and first warmblood cross is Oscar. He has a very nice colt, with a great personality. Libby has shown us she likes to jump, and free jumps when turned loose in the arena. Libby will be started under saddle in the Summer of 2006. She is in foal to Walkabout for 2007 and is currently leased out to Walkabout's owner. . |
